'The Whole World Is Our Playground' is the not so new, new track from Libertines front-man Pete Doherty, released specially for Record Store Day 2016.

The newly varnished track was premiered earlier in the week by John Kennedy on Radio X, ahead of its release on 12" vinyl around the UK's record stores for Record Store Day. It's an ever so comforting piece of music, combining a soothing sound with a soulful groove. Gliding strums of the acoustic, harmonised together with haunting keys accompany Doherty's charming vocals, as the Libs man strolls his way through a reminder of his solo ability. It's a captive record, one that grabs a hold of your thoughts and leaves behind a blank canvas. Seemingly encouraging you to believe that the whole world truly is, your playground.
"Blow the dust off the land that time forgot, you know what I mean", Pete remarks at the beginning of the video, whilst pitching the limited release onto his turntable, and on behalf of the majority, Pete, thanks for doing so.
