Why Should You Go and Listen to Gabriel Bruce Right Now?

A simple answer to that would be, because he's ace. But obviously I'm not going to leave it just there, as I could ramble on for days about how much I love the sound of London town's finest talent - so I shall.

Following a near-career ending incident with a dinosaur (fossil) post 2013's debut album 'Love In Arms', it's truly a blessing to have Gabriel back making music again; but for his sound to have developed and improved even more so, well we've just been spoilt. It was a blissful start to a promising career for Bruce, with tracks such as the legendary 'Cars Not Leaving' earning him recognition across the board, including with Jools Holland who rewarded him with a slot on the BBC's 'Later...' in June '13.
But now at long last, and with thanks to the fantastic work of the NHS, we're finally going to witness the next chapter in Gabriel Bruce's inevitable rise to the top, with his new album 'Come All Sufferers' due for release on May 20th. 'Metal Soul', the first of two appetisers from Bruce's forthcoming release is true vindication for his absence. It's a slow burner, but with a defining groove. "Get in touch with your metal soul" is the plea, and one that Bruce himself has evidently actioned - powering his way through an almost dream-crushing situation to bring himself back into the limelight.
'Freedom' is his latest taster and boy, what a treat this is. It's as though all the ideas and energy that have been bottled up over the past three years have been let loose on this track. It's constant, upbeat and completely feel-good. Oozing with charisma and epic prowess; it has become the soundtrack to my life of late. I don't know how many times I'd have to say wow for you to believe me how insanely good it genuinely is. But please, give it a listen and watch the video too, as I guarantee you'll be strutting around like Gabriel in no time, or is that just me?
Anyhow, he's pretty alright. Don't you think?
