Why shouldn't you? Should be the question, really. On Friday (1st July), Joe Mount's electro-groove outfit will return with their 5th studio album, 'Summer 08'; and it's fair to say, we can't bloody wait.

Summer 08

Fortunately, there is already some new Metronomy in the World; with new singles 'Old Skool', 'Back Together' and 'Night Owl' being the three hand-picked to wet the appetites of potential connoisseurs, and boy, aren't we thankful. Each of the pre-released tracks are very similar in a sense (outstanding, mind blowing, supercalifragilisticexpialidocious; you get the picture); offering a fresh lick of paint to Metronomy's World renowned electro-pop sound. Each encourage you to dance subconsciously, in a way you probably never have before and in a style that would only be deemed fitting when listening to Metronomy. Boisterous, full of life and in your face (though in a good way); each track bodes superbly well for Summer 08's forthcoming release. 10 years on from 2006's debut 'Pip Paine (Pay The £5000 You Owe)'; Mount and co are still managing to churn out fresher, more funkier and probably even better music than the past; something that is quite uncommon nowadays. If you do anything this week, make sure you buy this record. We promise you, you won't regret it.
